  • Our Matrimonial Icon

It's finally home from it's time in the altar at church & it's blessing. I'm so excited! This is the matrimonial icon for me and my husband Ephraem (Chris). His saint is St. Ephraem of Syria and mine is St. Zenaida, who with her sister were 1st century holy unmercenaries. I have posted the story of her life on my blog here.

An incredibly talented friend of ours that goes to our parish wrote this icon for us. We feel truly honored and humbled to have this icon which will always be a blessing to us.

St. Zenaida and St. Ephraem pray to God for us!

    Beautiful!
RYC: we should get together soon! Maybe this Sunday or the next, before Lent starts?

@maria22000 - absolutely! Let me talk to E and see what his plans are. We'll call you!

Wow! I've never heard of a matrimonial icon. Is that the same as a family icon, but before children are born?

RYC: The miracle of my husband's conversion of the heart happened at the beginning of this month and all the catechism classes during this month have been canceled for one reason or another. LOL - nerve-racking for me since I've been waiting 3 years. God is good and His timing is perfect.

DH is bubbling over with joy about finally discovering the true Church. Praise God!

Yep, a matrimonial icon is basically a family icon, but before children are born - so it's just the husband & wife's saints.

We discovered the Church 4 years ago and are still bubbling! I'm so excited for all you have ahead of you!
